Congress MLA B Nagendra Granted Bail in Karnataka Valmiki Development Corporation Scam
Bengaluru: Congress MLA B Nagendra was granted bail by the Special Court for People’s Representatives on Monday, months after stepping down as the Scheduled Tribes Welfare Minister in June amid allegations of involvement in a financial scam. The case pertains to the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation.
According to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Nagendra is identified as the primary accused, orchestrating the scam along with 24 others. The ED’s investigation uncovered unauthorized transfers of Rs 187 crore, including Rs 43.33 crore from the State Treasury’s ‘Ganga Kalyana Scheme,’ which were allegedly funneled through shell accounts for personal use and election funding in Bellary.
